Crossing the river from Kentucky to Ohio was the path to freedom for slaves. There are tunnels that extended under the river ( In houses that still exist) which were used as the end of the journey to freedom. If you have never been to this area you may want to put it on your bucket list of things to do. There is always something going on, so much to explore. Wonderful historical homes and buildings, shopping and of course festivals.
